#2 Eating the Fish
#3 Wearing our hip waders in public places
#4 Long summer days (why isn't Home Depot open at 11:30pm?)
#5 Beautiful Scenery
*Mountains
*Lakes
*Rivers
*Glaciers
*Wildflowers
#6 WINTER
*Bonfires
*Fireworks (because its to light in the summer)
*Sledding
*Frozen salmon toss contest
*SNOW
*Ice sculptures all over the place
#7 Moose in the Backyard and Bears from a distance (we hope)
#8 Alaska Homeschooling (they give each child at least 1,600 a year for school supplies and Curr.)
#9 We have 2 Starbucks and coffee shops all over the place!
#10 The idea of getting paid to live here (PFD)
10 Things we HATE about living in ALASKA
#1 No Family:(
#2 Customer service "everywhere" it stinks
#3 No "really good" restaurants (we'll take an Olive Garden and an Ihop please)
#4 Shipping Charges
#5 Dark mornings that make it very hard to get out of bed (winter)
#6 Higher gas prices
#7 Higher food prices (3.99lb for Honeycrisp apples)
#8 Theres all these stores that have tanning beds (whats up with that?)
*Movies and tanning
*Espresso and tanning
*Travel and tanning
*Liqueur and tanning
and the list goes on...
#9 To many stinkin dirt roads (nobody drives a clean car around here)
#10 we have not gotten the 2 biggest payouts (PFD) that Alaskans have ever seen
*We get one next year but to bad the Alaska dividend fund was hit hard by the Economy falling, now we will probably get the smallest one ever! (personally I think it has something to do with the Barlow curse)
Okay, hip waders in public. Really? They can't be that comfortable. And what's the Barlow curse? I'm not familiar with that.
ReplyDeleteThere not UN comfortable. We wear them to the store when we run out of fishing supplies or out getting a bite to eat durring a fishing trip. Nobody thinks a thing of it! People wear them everywhere. The Barlow curse well... Just ask your Dad or Emily. With you dad it seems to be related to fishing and charters. With Emily, well bad things just seemed to happen to her while she was here. With Paul it is anything financial. Its just a joke really:) Im sure your ok as you are now a Lizana.
ReplyDeleteAll the tanning is probably to combat Seasonal Depression in the dark months. The lights are supposed to help.
